Stylemoi.nu REVIEW!!

kind of lengthy, but super informative!!

My skirt finally arrived in the mail, so I can finally do this review! So I recently ordered from an online clothing store called stylemoi.nu, and I'm usually feeling super excited when I order things online, but at the same time super anxious, because the online world is a dangerous place and what if I get scammed?

The website:

First of all, the website is pretty terrible if you're using it on a desktop/laptop computer. Which I prefer to do when I know I'm going to be making a purchase because it helps me really look into the details of the product, and just easier browsing. However, their website is essentially a giant tumblr page, with the infinite scrolling. Plus every time I logged into my account, I'd be automatically be logged out again, which is super frustrating.
The clothes on the website is super cute, and super affordable.. if you are using the dollar currency and are living in the U.S. The clothes in general are super affordable but I live in Canada and the American dollar is worth 76 cents Canadian, so we're losing money every time we shop in the U.S, but I wont get into that, because what do I know about the economy?? But it would be nice if stylemoi had an option to change it into cnd dollars.

Ordering process:
Tracking code:
Ordering from them was super easy, as with most online shopping sites they do take Visa, Matsercard and Paypal. They do give you a tracking code for your products, which I didn't get informed about automatically, I had to e-mail them asking if there was a tracking code, when I didn't receive mine for about 3 days.

Customer service:
That being said, their customer service (I was e-mailing them, I didn't call any rep. at Stylemoi so I couldn't tell you my experience with the phone.) was EXCELLENT. They replied super quickly and gave me straightforward answers, and they even attached a screen shot of my order.

Shipping:
I did the standard shipping, as they have a NO MINIMUM fee for free shipping. So there's nothing like "order $50+ to get free shipping, order $200+ to get free shipping, etc." The standard shipping time is 5-10 days.... which I don't know if its because I live in Canada, and that time frame is for America only, but I ordered my clothes on August 4th, and I didn't hear anything from them until I emailed them, and they said my clothes got shipped out on August 8th. So 4 days of just absolute nothing, and then on August 19th I received my flannel shirt, which is only HALF my purchase. So it took 15 days for my clothes to arrive. But it turns out that the skirt I ordered was out of stock and they didn't get it in stock as they expected it to, so they were like we can refund your skirt, or you can choose to get it in black and you'll receive 10% off and we'll refund you the difference back to your paypal. (I don't know how the whole refund works, but no money has been returned to my account yet.) Which, to be honest I don't understand why they waited like 10 days for the stock, and then when it didn't come, they were just like oh by the way... I mean if they knew it was out of stock in the first place, they could've notified me saying "By the way, the skirt in white is currently out of stock, but we're expected to receive it soon, and if not we can exchange, etc etc." SO, I ended up switching to the black skirt and I received my package on September 3rd, so the skirt took like 16 days to arrive.
The good thing about their shipping process was, that I was scared that I would have to pay some additional tax or whatever that is, but they shipped it so the package was being handled by an American Postal Service first, and then it was handed off to Canada post. I'm not exactly sure on their details of shipping methods, but no complaints, because there were no additional charges. And I feel like this whole re-routing thing is also the reason behind why it took a month in total for my complete order to come, so I'm not really as angry. Also, Canada Post is just so slow, my package was in my city for 4 days and Canada post just I don't know, Canada post just takes forever. Slash, anything you order from China is bound to take a long time. It's just the excitement kind of dies when you've been waiting this long.
The products:
Okay so actually getting into the products, first of all the PACKAGING. I read somewhere that the packaging from Stylemoi is super cute and adorable, but I received mine in this disgusting, dusty, grey bag, but once I opened it, the clothes come in this bubble wrapped package with these 3 stickers on it.
Which I mean, I appreciate their effort, yesstyle doesn't even give you clothes in bubble wrap, but at the same time the packaging isn't like those monthly subscription packages with the super cute box and written notes. So I guess A for effort.

SO ACTUALLY (and finally) GETTING INTO WHAT I BOUGHT:
#1: The flannel
I believe the official product name is 'Step Hem Boyfriend Oversized Plaid Shirt' (I will leave the link to this at the end) and you may have seen this shirt featured in my back to college lookbook. I always measure myself and compare it to the measurements given before I order anything, and so I measured myself and compared it to the sizing, and I decided to get it in the XS. I love the length of the XS, and everything fits fine, but the arms are soooo small. They feel super tight, and that's with the sleeves unbuttoned. It's really uncomfortable to lift my arms up. Also, the sleeves don't come down to my wrist, it's a little short. So if you are looking into buying this, I would say buy 1 size up, because I have really thin arms and wrists, and the XS is just not the right size for me.
Overall, the quality is nice. It's a thick material, not the softest thing I have ever worn, but it's got good colouring, no fading or weird misprint or anything like that. I will say however, that both the clothes I ordered don't have a label that says 'Stylemoi' or any other label indicating where the clothes are from, which is kinda sketchy, but I mean my products are here, so I guess it's nbd.

#2: Maxi Skirt:
Officially called the "Floral Border Lace Maxi Skirt" I originally wanted to get this in white, but it got sold out so I bought it in black, and this is what the white looks like:
Looking at it from this picture, I thought those lines were actually pleats, but when I got my skirt in the mail I was kind of surprised to see that those lines are actually stripes.

So this is the maxi skirt in black, and right now this product is currently sold out but you can still check out the details of this product here
This skirt is only in one size, and I'm usually a size 2/XS or 24/25 in jeans and the elastic fits comfortably on my waist, it doesn't feel too tight. I'm also about 5'1 or 5'2 (157cm-158cm) and this skirt comes just above my ankle, which I'm okay with the length, I don't really like things swishing at my feet anyways. I think if you were a little taller, this skirt might not work as well because it is supposed to be a maxi skirt. and the elastic is super stretchy so I think the maxi skirt would fit those of you who are not the same size as me, it just depends on how comfortable the elastic might feel around your waist. Please keep in mind that when ordering One Size, stylemoi is a company based in China, and so the sizes are geared towards Asian people who tend to be shorter and on the leaner side.
The material of this skirt is good quality also. The lace isn't too thin or frail and the elastic waistband is super good quality. Just a note though, even though there is a black slip, make sure you are wearing nude or black underwear because your hot pink underwear will show through. Not by much, but you can see it, especially when taking pictures.
I'm not sure how I feel about this skirt yet, I have to style with it a bit more, so look forward to a blog post featuring this skirt soon!

HOPEFULLY YOU GUYS FOUND THIS USEFUL and I probably won't have anymore online shopping reviews anytime soon, but look forward to more outfit/beauty blog posts!! :) Happy Blogging!
