I haven't done a get ready with me since my high school graduation last year, and I thought I'd do an updated get ready with me for a school day. My skincare have since updated then, so come join me as I walk you through my makeup, hair and outfit.
Starting with my makeup, I start out with this Wonder Teatree Calming Toner, which I only use about two-three times a week when I feel like my skin is breaking out. If I feel like my skin is doing OK, I use my Tony Moly toner. Then I use my Shiseido pureness matifying moisturizer all over the face. This lotion is great for everyday use, and because it's matifying, it's great for the T-zone and oily/combination skin.
Next, I go ahead and use my Soft Touch spf 32 sunscreen all over the face. It's important to apply sunscreen (especially during winter apparently), and I've been trying to input this as a step in my makeup routine.
Next, I apply the Smashbox photo finish primer and I apply this all over my face depending on which foundation I use. (I'll get more into why when I get to the foundation part) I also apply this on my eyelids, to keep the eye shadows from moving around.
Now usually, I use this Covergirl clean sensitive skin foundation then my Real Tehcniques foundation brush to blend it all in, but I wanted to go with the "Korean makeup look" so I used...
my new cushion foundation from The Face Shop. Cushion foundations are all the rage now a days, and this one has really great coverage and it gives you that dewy look. Now when I was talking about using primer, I usually use the foundation primer all over the face when I use this cushion foundation, because the dewy formula can easily sweat off, or smudge off, and the primer helps keep it all locked in. However, when I'm using the cover girl foundation, I tend to just apply it in my T-Zone because that's where it gets all oily.
Then next is the eyebrows (still using my Anastasia dip brow pomade in chocolate) with my Essence angled brush, and then my Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous in medium. Then I apply the Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry. Also, the eyeliner I will be using today is my new Sailor Moon eyeliner which you can read all about here
Next for eye shadows, the first palette is the Hard Candy (not sure what the name is) and I use the 1st shimmery white colour for my inner corners as well as highlighting my cheekbones. Then the 2nd (represented by the blue fox sticker) shimmery, orange-coral colour goes all over my lids. Then for the 2nd palette is the Maybeliene blushed nudes palette. I use the matte white eye shadow to highlight my brow bone, and then the rose gold shade goes into my crease.
Next I curl my eyelashes, and use the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara. I will have a review of this in my Smashbox Haul. Then I apply my Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Captivating.
Then finally, for my lips I apply Shu Uemera lipstick in MCR 342.
OOTD:
For my hair I start to french braid my damp hair into pigtails, and when the braid reaches the top of my ears, I twist the rest into buns. This helps add volume and curls to my hair. And then when my hair is dry, I take it out. And if I feel like there are certain strands of my hair that need more curl, I'll go back in with a curling iron.
For my outfit, I wore my Zara romper which looks like I'm either a) a hospital patient or b) I am a porcelain doll going on a picnic. Take your pick! Then I wore my white platformed sandals from Call It Spring.
Finished Look:
This is the finished look, and as you can see my hair is on FIREEEEEE. As for the makeup look, I have my signature winged eyeliner, and overall a dewy summer coral look.
