So I walked into Sephora with the intention of testing out some contour kits and swatching the Smashbox lipsticks to see if I wanted to still buy it. And I walked out with this Shu Uemura lipstick.
This is the "rouge unlimited supreme matte" in M CR 342. I kind of wished the lipstick had a name because shade M CR 342 sounds really boring but what can ya do.
I like the box it comes in, very minimalistic and digging that font. The actual lipstick packaging I'm not a fan of. Kind of reminds me of a silver tampon.
These are the swatches. What it looks like in the packaging, on the hand, and on the lips.
This lipstick though. What kind of sorcery are Japanese people using because this lipstick, like the way it applies is soooooo nice. It feels like I'm gliding on nothing, and the colour magically appears. It's not that drying and the colour stays on pretty well even after eating and drinking. You don't need to blot it or worry about it getting on your teeth. It's like once it's on, it's on. The formulation is amazing and I am looking forward to buying different colours.
Now this shade might as well be Revlon's Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Flirtation except actually matte.... I've reviewed the Revlon one before and it says matte, but it's actually pretty glossy as you can see from the swatch.
You can't really notice THAT big of a difference on camera. The Shu Uemura is just a tad darker. I really like the coraly peach colour for the summer and I like both lip products, but the Shu Uemura is actually so bomb I love the formula is worth the $36. (Def better than Nars and I think they're the same price.)
