I am home for the summer break, and there are so many things in our pantry that I've never seen before. Most of it is from this Italian grocery store which sells food from other countries like Poland.
Starting with the Korean snacks though, because I hit up the Korean mart recently we picked up some snacks.
"Caplico" which is Japanese brand is something I cannot really describe. They're these box of "ice cream cones" but really it's a cookie cone and inside is this kind of chocolate/mousse filling. It looks like this mouuse/spongy texture but when you actually eat it, it melts in your mouth like chocolate.
This box in particular with Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla flavours.
It's super good and once you have one, you want to eat the rest.
Koreans are actually obsessed with honey and this one is kind of a 50/50 for me. It starts out tasting very unfamiliar and kind of weird but strangely you keep reaching for more. It's very sweet so I feel like I'm eating candy but because it's in a crunchy thin potato chip form I'm like is this good? Is it bad? I think it's kind of fun to try out strange products like this. I'm not sure I would purchase it again though.
I like chocolate and I like orange and I like cookies, so you'd think this would be a great combination. Nope. This, I mean the flavour wasn't bad it was just that it felt like I was eating sand. It was so crumbly and grainy I did not enjoy this.
Another thing I did not enjoy was these amaretti cookies. I like almonds and almond flavour- especially marzipan. But again, I don't know if I just don't like crumbly textures but this was extremely hard and crunchy and the inside was just sand. I also didn't really care for the flavour much either.
This is honestly the strangest snack I have ever witnessed. It's this "orange gingerbread" cookie and the texture is so weird because the frosted shell thing is crunchy but the cookie is very spongy. And I have no idea how you make a cookie this texture. It was like eating marshmallows. To be honest I think I ate a lot of these just because I liked the texture so much. I like orange and gingerbread, it wasn't anything special. I just really, really liked the cookie itself.
The next one is essentially chocolate orange. You can find similar products anywhere. And obviously, this is going to be delicious, and it was. I could eat the whole package if I wanted to. I also enjoyed how it was a bite sized circle shape instead of the conventional square bar. It just made these easier to pop in your mouth....and consume way faster than a normal chocolate bar.
Cream Rolls. Wow #sounds so good #yum. The advertising is fleek. No but in all seriousness, you've probably seen similar cookies like these. These are those straw cookies, except this one is filed with a vanilla cream. This was way too sweet for me. I'd rather have the straws or wafers.
Hope you enjoyed my snack blog post today. I know it's a little bit different than what I normally do, but I always like sharing food related content. I think they're good for discovering new foods/making you want to try new foods.
