This outfit reminds me of something you would find on a Tumblr aesthetics blog. I'm hanging onto monotones for as long as possible until I have to switch gears into spring pastels and florals.
Here, I paired my checked grey and white skirt with a tucked in Adidas t-shirt to give my body more silhouette. This skirt makes it really easy to shrink your height, so by showing off the waist and giving the shirt a cropped illusion, I still maintain a figure. I also wore my navy tights, which when paired with black shoes (one with a little heel is always best) elongates your legs.
If you want to add more texture, go ahead and chuck on a wooly cardigan, or a leather jacket.
